Paxos Island – is the smallest Island among the Ionian group. All tourists who been here are admiring the Island because of the beauty of wild caves and rocky shores. Right opposite Paxos Island – is Antipaxos Island: very small and very popular by very long sandy beaches.
The eastern coastline of the Islands is gentle compared to the west coast which is bold and abrupt, with caves, arches and sheer cliffs. The capital of Paxos called Gaios – a picturesque village built around a port which is protected by two small Islands Agios Nikolas and Pangaea. On the Northern side is the village Lakka and on the east side is the very charming village named Loggos.
Gaios is a main port where all big ferries arrive along with small fishing boats.
This place has plenty of fish taverns. People say that Port Gaios is the most beautiful port in all Ionian Sea. Sailing and fishing – this is the main hobbies of most of local residents.
